Common Questions & Answers

  • How old do you need to be to rent a boat?

Operators must be 21+ years old to rent a boat and sign the rental agreement.

  • Do I need a boater’s license?

Anyone born after January 1st, 1988 must have a boater’s license. We accept all NASBLA-approved boater licenses. You can obtain your Florida temporary boater’s license using this link. This license is valid for 90 days. If you need a license and prefer to get it on site please arrive 1 hour before your scheduled rental time.

  • Do we have to pay for fuel?

No. Fuel is included in the price of the rental.

  • Can we extend our rental?

Yes. Just give us a call and we can extend your rental time. Each additional hour is $75.00.

  • What happens if we get rain/bad weather?

We allow weather cancellations before the rental starts, but no refunds for weather-shortened rentals will be provided. We will offer a raincheck for the time left on your rental. We recommend starting your rental as early in the day as possible to avoid the Florida afternoon rain/thunderstorms.

  • Where can we go?

We provide a map showing the boundaries of our rental area. The rental area is in Ponce Inlet and New Smyrna Beach. Rental boats are NOT allowed in the ocean.

  • Can we beach the boat/stop at restaurants?

Yes. We will provide instructions and a map of the best places to stop in our rental area. It is the renter's responsibility to properly secure the boat to the dock or the beach. Anchors and dock lines will be provided. Any damage caused by improper docking and anchoring of the boat is the responsibility of the renter.

  • Can we bring dogs?

Yes. Dogs are allowed onboard the rental boats but are subject to an additional cleanup/damage fee.

  • What if I damage the boat?
